TicketPrep is an independent Canadian study site for Red Seal certification exams. It covers seven trades: 310S Automotive Service Technician, 310T Truck and Coach Technician, 309A Electrician, 403A Carpenter, 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, 332A Hairstylist and 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright). This page says who is behind it, how the questions are made, and what to do if you find something wrong.
01Who runs TicketPrep
TicketPrep is built and run by Trevor Mulder, its founder. It is a small, independent business based in Canada, with no connection to any exam body or training provider.
I am not a tradesperson, and the site does not pretend otherwise. That is why every question is tied to a public source you can check yourself: the Red Seal Occupational Standard for the trade, the exam breakdown the Red Seal Program publishes, and the code or standard a fact comes from. The aim is practice that is built the way the exam is built, with every answer explained, so a score here tells you something real about where you stand.
02How the questions are built
Each trade has a 550-question bank. Every question is anchored to one sub-task in the trade's occupational standard, and practice tests draw from each part of the standard in the proportion the official exam breakdown sets. Each question has four options, one correct, and explains why every option is right or wrong. Facts and figures are checked against the current edition of their source, such as the Canadian Electrical Code, the National Building Code or National Safety Code Standard 11, and the source is recorded with the question.

03How AI is used
Questions are drafted with AI language models, working from the occupational standard and the cited sources. They are then checked in a separate pass, also run with AI models, that starts from the source rather than from the draft: the answer is worked out again from the standard, code or reference and compared with the key, figures are confirmed, calculations are redone, and each wrong option is checked to be genuinely wrong. A question that cannot be traced to a source is rewritten or held back.
We say this plainly because you should know how a study tool is made before you trust it. What makes a question reliable is that it can be checked against a published source, not the tool used to write it, and that is also what lets anyone check our work.
04Outside review
We are building a panel of Red Seal holders to review questions in their own trades. Reviewers are credited on this page by name and trade, if they want to be. If you hold a Red Seal in one of our seven trades and would like to help, email support@ticketprep.ca with your trade and where you work. Reviewers get free All-Access for as long as they are reviewing.
05Mistakes and corrections
If you think a question is wrong, tell us. Use the contact page and choose "Report a question error", or email support@ticketprep.ca with the question's ID from the top of the card. Every report is checked against the source. If the question is wrong, it is fixed and the change is recorded with the question.
06What TicketPrep is not
TicketPrep is not affiliated with the Red Seal Program, the Government of Canada, any provincial apprenticeship authority or any exam provider. We have no access to real exam questions, and we do not sell, reproduce or paraphrase them. We do not publish pass rates we cannot back up, and we do not promise a result on exam day. The exam tests your trade; practice shows you where you stand.
07How the site is paid for
A lot of TicketPrep is free with no account: ten practice questions per trade with every answer explained, a sample quiz for each trade, and the guides on the exam, fees and rules in each province. The full question banks are paid: Exam Pass is $69 for one trade and All-Access is $89 for every trade, both one-time payments for 120 days of access, not subscriptions. If it isn't the right fit, the refund policy gives your money back in full within 7 days of purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card number.
