Most trade exam practice is calibrated too easy. You score in the 90s, walk into the real exam, and come out with a 67. We build to the published blueprint instead — so the number you see is the number you'd get.
Ask around and the same story turns up in every trade: high 80s and 90s on the practice app, then a fail at 67 or 69. The pass mark is 70. People with years on the tools are failing twice while their practice scores say they're ready.
There's a structural reason, and it's published in plain sight. For every Red Seal trade, the Red Seal Program releases the mix of question types on the exam — and straight recall is only 5–20% of it. The rest is procedural and critical thinking: take what you know and apply it to a situation. Nearly every question bank on the market sells recall, because recall is cheap to write.
Practise a recall bank and you get good at a recall bank. The exam asks something else.
Our rule: every question maps to a named sub-task in the public Red Seal Occupational Standard, and each set matches the published type mix for that trade. If a practice score doesn't predict a real score, it isn't practice — it's reassurance.

Real exam questions. Some sites advertise "actual exam bank questions." The Red Seal Program is direct about this: those questions are confidential, and selling them is dishonest or illegal. Anyone offering them is either lying about what they have or telling you the truth about breaking the rules. Neither one should be handling your certification.
Everything here is original, written against the publicly available occupational standard for the trade. That's a harder way to build a question bank. It's also the only way that survives contact with the real exam.
